Christmas lights switch on 2016

The weather stayed fine and the sky was alight with lasers beams and fireworks for the switching on of the Christmas Lights in Swadlincote.

Christmas choir As in previous years choirs from local schools joined us throughout the day, entertaining the Friday shoppers with carols and Christmas songs.

Our Food Saver Champions and Gina the Waste Less Save More vehicle, were on the Delph from 10am-3pm serving up lots of tasty treats for everyone to sample.

Sharpe's Pottery Museum held their annual Christmas Craft Fair from 10m to 8pm on Friday 25 November 2016. School children sang in the courtyard from mid-morning until lunchtime and there was hot mulled wine, chestnuts and pulled pork baps available throughout the evening.

Swadlincote Ski and Snowboard Centre held their annual Christmas extravaganza with half-price tubing and tobogganing all evening. Santa skied down the slopes accompanied by his band of elves between 4.30 to 5.30pm.
