Community Governance Review: Newhall and Stanton

South Derbyshire District Council is currently undertaking a Community Governance Review (CGR) to determine whether a Parish Council should be established in the area of Newhall and Stanton.

The council published its terms of reference on 25 January 2016 and undertook an initial stage one consultation, which ran until 13 March 2016. The terms of reference document and the responses to the initial consultation can be downloaded from the related documents section of this page.

As part of stage two of the process, the council considered the draft proposals at its meeting on 19 May 2016 and published those proposals on 23 May 2016.

A consultation period relating to the draft proposals was set to run until 3 July 2016. The draft proposals can also be downloaded from the related documents section of this page.

At the Full Council meeting on 22 September 2016, Elected Members resolved not to create a Parish Council for Newhall and Stanton.
