Public Spaces Protection Order - phase two consultation

A Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) is a new control measure, created by the 2014 Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act, which is intended to deal with specific nuisances or problems in a defined area that are “detrimental to the local community’s quality of life”.

Public Spaces Protection Order consultation

Following extensive consultations we have created five new Public Spaces Protection Orders for South Derbyshire.

Four of the orders are effectively a consolidation of existing controls on dogs in parks and open spaces, along with controls over the consumption of alcohol in Eureka Park.

We have introduced a fifth order which makes the registered driver of a road vehicles legally responsible for any items of litter which are thrown from the vehicle

The orders were brought into effect on 27 January 2017.
